Energizer® organizer puts a charge
in battery sales
Premium adds value and offers new
merchandising options
Objective
Energizer® wanted to offer a custom
premium that could create new merchandising options for
retailers, add value for consumers and, most importantly,
generate incremental battery sales.
Challenge
The Energizer brand team decided
to leverage the success of its popular Y2K battery storage
case, which Milmour had manufactured the previous year,
recasting it as a battery organizer. The new
organizer case had to hold 25 batteries of various sizes,
give retailers merchandising options, and come with a
battery tester included in the case.
Solution
Milmour developed a sturdy plastic
box with a formed insert that was designed to display
and hold an ample supply of every common battery size.
The expanded version also featured a slot for a gift
battery tester.
Success
Offered packed out with batteries, as
a near-pack, and as a mail-in premium, the Energizer battery
organizer has been a success in every way. Consumers responded
to the added value it delivered, retailers liked the merchandising
flexibility it offered, and the company enjoyed the incremental
sales it generated. The organizers have been so popular
that Energizer continues to offer new forms of containers,
including the wall-mount with flashlight version shown below.
